1. Great Gadgets

Smart technology is revolutionizing all ways of life, including how you grill. There’s a gadget for every purpose.

Live in an apartment and can’t have a traditional barbeque? Check out an indoor smokeless BBQ grill.

Hate cleaning your grill? There are robotic cleaners that will leave your grill sparkling.

Have an old thermometer that just doesn’t do the trick anymore? Get yourself a digital thermometer that can connect to an app on your phone. Never miss catching your meat at the perfect temperature ever again.

If you can dream it, it probably exists. How could your grilling benefit from these cool contraptions?

2. Good Food Is Grown by Good Farming Practices

It’s no secret that eating organic food is better for you. Eating organic meat means you can avoid the 3,000 chemical additives approved to be in the food you eat. You can also say goodbye to antibiotics and hormones when the animals you eat are only fed natural, healthy food.

In 2018, more people will realize the benefits of eating organic. While it may be more expensive, the price is worth the benefits.

3. Fake It ‘Till You Make It

Who said vegetarians couldn’t throw an amazing BBQ? Clearly these people have never had a pulled jackfruit sandwich. Taking the internet by storm, vegetarian BBQ trends have been popping up left, right, and centre, and they’re surprisingly delicious.

The new pulled jackfruit trend caused an increase of 131 percent of jackfruit consumption in 2017. Cauliflower is also giving meat a run for its money, acting as a substitute for many meats including chicken wings.

We expect to see many more veggie alternatives gracing our grills this year.

4. No Buns? No Problem!

It seems that everyone you meet nowadays is gluten intolerant; some might even describe it as mainstream. Most gluten-free alternatives just aren’t quite the same. Instead of sacrificing the taste, skip the buns altogether.

Opting out of eating a bun with your BBQ is a great way to lower your caloric intake if you’re looking to eat healthier. You can swap your bun out for a lettuce wrap instead—trust us, it’s delicious!

5. Try the Pork Steaks

More and more people are favouring pork steaks over beef steak.

It’s not just pork that people are going crazy for over beef. Fish consumption increased by 50.7 percent last year. Whatever your preferences, we guarantee you’ll be able to find a beef alternative at your local BBQ this year.

6. Mix n’ Match

The year 2018 is all about the flavour! If your mouth is watering just thinking about all the different flavour combinations out there, this trend is for you! From tangy and sweet to straight-up spicy, you’ll be able to find more recipes and more products on the shelves that favour flavour as the true king of the BBQ this year.

7. Grilled Pizza? Sign Me Up!

You read that right, you can grill up an amazing pizza right on your barbeque. Grill up this Italian classic and customize it to your preferences. Get started with an easy-to-make recipe today.
