The GTA is filled with wedding venues sure to make your special day memorable. With so much variety, you can find unique wedding venues for any theme in mind. 1. Use Your Personality

Think about you as a couple. What defines the two of you and how can it be used to sift through unique wedding venues? Are you romantic? Look into historical estates. Do you want a barnyard wedding? Opt for something that’s rustic yet chic. Your wedding day is about you, and it should incorporate pieces of your personality into the venue you choose.

It could even be a space not traditionally used as a wedding venue. Perhaps you have an idea in mind that doesn’t actually exist as a preconceived wedding event space. Now’s the time to test the waters and turn that space into a unique wedding venue. Talk to the owners to ensure it checks off all the boxes to hold a wedding. Choosing a place that’s outside the box is an achievable option. Don’t rule out any kind of space—regardless of its intended purpose.

The venue should match your vision and wedding date. There’s always a way to combine your characteristics with an event space. If a particular venue speaks to you, regardless of what it’s normally used for, it might be the one. Visualize how you want your ceremony and reception laid out. For whatever type of wedding you want, consider the kinds of places and locations that speak to that purpose—even if it’s not a space typically used for wedding receptions.

2. Read the Reviews

The internet is a wonderful place and, in today’s age, it provides no shortage of spaces to investigate. Public sites not curated by the venue itself provides an honest review of what the space is like. Third-party sites, such as EventSource, that aren’t affiliated with the venue owners make it easy to get full-fledged reviews without bias.

You can be sure you’re getting feedback from people who were there.

Use different search tips and keywords to find unique wedding venues. It doesn’t have to be limited to generic wedding venue phrases. It could be distinctly creative or relate to a specific theme instead, such as “best fall wedding venues.” Different search terms reveal spaces that might not have previously shown up in past searches.

Crowd reviews make it easier to find event spaces that wouldn’t normally be exposed, and they give a good inside glimpse as to what the venue is like. Everyone has an opinion, and crowd reviews provide a wide range of them, so you can be sure you’re picking the venue that speaks to you.

3. Talk to Caterers

Caterers work at these events for a living. They know the ins and outs of venues, making them fully equipped to recommend a space for you. Their experience over the years makes them perfect people to talk to regarding the right space to pick.

The best caterers have an endless network and connections readily available to show what’s currently trending, what’s tried and true, and what makes each wedding venue special. From hidden gems to hot spots, caterers have the inside scoop. They’ll recommend places they enjoy working in and they are knowledgeable about what makes each venue unique.

Caterers have seen firsthand what works best to provide a recommendation that fits what you’re looking for.
