Spring has sprung! Although the calendar says spring officially starts on March 20, Canadians often wait a lot longer for the cold and the snow to become mere memories. Toronto has experienced a few nice days now, and more are on the way.

Spring also means people are thinking about celebrating again. Whether it’s a sales conference, a wedding, or a birthday party, many people get a bit of spring fever for event planning. Here are some perfect event venues for an affair that will put a spring in your step and help you celebrate the season.

5. Toronto Botanical Gardens

Can you think of a better venue to host a spring event than in a garden? While some people might wait until summer since more will be in bloom, the Toronto Botanical Gardens is one of the city’s best spring event venues.

Two of the venue’s halls have accompanying patios, and the terrace also opens up your event to the outdoors. April showers bring May flowers, and the gardens will be full of lively and cheerful spring blooms.

4. Artscape Gibraltar Point

Another excellent choice among Toronto event venues for spring is this Artscape space. Choose from the South Lawn, the West Lawn, or the Beach for outdoor options and enjoy a balmy evening or a sunny day in the city. Roll with the venue’s location and take advantage of beach themes and bonfires!

If you’re leery about the weather, take the event indoors to one of the building’s other event spaces. You’ll still be surrounded by 46 acres of parkland. Just a 10-minute ferry ride to the Toronto Islands, this space also provides great views of Lake Ontario and the downtown cityscape.

What better way to celebrate spring than to find a green oasis near the city? You can also check out the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, Toronto’s oldest landmark.

3. The Power Plant

Another downtown event venue along the shores of Lake Ontario, the Power Plant is an iconic building on the Toronto cityscape. Its original smokestack and façade, both still intact, are instantly recognizable.

While most of the event spaces provided are indoor spaces, the South Terrace is an excellent option for anyone looking to take advantage of pleasant spring weather. Stunning views of Lake Ontario complete the scene.

2. The Gambrel Barn at Country Heritage Park

Perhaps the spring weather has got you longing for something a little more rustic than downtown event venues can provide. That’s fine—Country Heritage Park has you covered. Jaunt up to Milton (located less than an hour outside of the city and accessible by public transit) to rediscover the bucolic countryside. Historic buildings dot the property, which also includes museum exhibits and other attractions.

The Gambrel Barn, constructed in 1984, is a great venue for those looking to escape to more pastoral settings. This vast space can accommodate large parties, making it ideal for weddings and other large-scale events. Other event spaces are also available.

1. FountainBlu

Searching for a bit of that countryside charm? What about a little added glitz and glamour without having to leave the confines of downtown Toronto? Look no further than FountainBlu at Exhibition Park. Located on the Exhibition grounds, this event space is nestled in an exquisitely landscaped setting: Fountains and stunning gardens, and even a bridge overlooking Lake Ontario make this event venue an escape from city living.

The space is a single banquet hall with no dividers, which means only one event is ever booked at a time. That means you can be sure your event will be private—and there will be no interference from other ongoing events. That only adds to the sense of escapism that FountainBlu provides your guests.
