The Distillery District is known for being a historic and cultural hub within downtown Toronto. The Arta Gallery which was established in 2003 is the home of a commercial arts space and event venue that fits seamlessly into its Distillery District surroundings. The gallery is a dazzling display of contemporary Canadian and International artwork that remains part of the decor during all events held in the space. This detail falls inline with the gallery’s vision to promote art into people’s daily lives and to make artists more accessible to Torontoians. The room itself is quite flexible, appropriate for weddings, fundraisers, corporate functions, or receptions and any event looking to add a sophisticated, artistic edge.

The effectiveness of holding a unique and intimate event in an open gallery atmosphere may seem doubtful, but such a concern is void at Arta Gallery. The design of the gallery itself maintains warm characteristics from the exposed brick wall interlaced with black framed iron rod windows to the serene lighting created by track lighting throughout the space. Industrial features like the exposed ceilings coupled with warm tones in the brick, white accent walls and lighting fixed on dimmers create and inviting space. While the gallery does not allow taping or puncturing the walls to preserve its integrity, the artwork is varied and contemporary creating a modern and urbane atmosphere.

Arta Gallery can accommodate seated meal receptions of up to 120 guests, and standing cocktail events of 220 people. Another notable decor element which ties Arta Gallery to its community is the rustic bar area which is made of recovered wood from the Distillery District. While the space itself is not licensed, Special Occasion Permits can be obtained by the renter for events. There is public parking and wheelchair accessibility to the space. Other standard features includes an in house audio visual system with wireless microphone and a projector. A number of furnishing options are available, but the gallery is also happy to work with rental suppliers, as preferred by the event planner.

Without a doubt, Arta Gallery is a distinctive and indelible place to hold a special event.
