The Bram & Bluma Appel Salon retains its home inside of the prestigious Toronto Reference Library. Known as a public place where the community can be engaged in events from civic discourse to cultural and literary programming, this important space can also be rented for special events. The Appel Salon is conveniently located at Yonge and Bloor and provides three distinct rooms called Prologue, Epic Hall, and Novella. These spaces are adaptable enough to fit any type of event needs.

Prologue is a pre-function space which can be used in conjunction with Epic Hall or Novella. It can accommodate 250 people, feature its own entrance with a coat check room. This room is a great reception area providing a fully equipped bar, high ceilings with a beautiful skylight and attached East facing terrace. Not to mention, the wall mounted 65” flat screen plasmas, sound system, and wireless microphone options. Prologue is well equipped to keep guests entertained.

If an event uses Prologue and Epic Hall, there is an optional retractable glass partition to separate the two rooms. Epic Hall is the grandest of the three spaces, also providing a coat check room. A sophisticated and well lit room, it boasts exposed brick and wood panel walls. The room is also carpeted with recess lighting and includes a North facing outdoor terrace offering views overlooking Rosedale Valley. A fully equipped kitchen makes catered events a breeze while state of the art technical features allow for projected presentations, filming of events, flat screen displays, and much more. This space can be used in a classroom set up to hold 315 people, as a dining layout with a dance floor for 360 people, or without a dance floor 400 people can be seated, or again as a reception area for 458 people.

Novella is a perfect setting for more intimate events and meetings. Like the other rooms it has its own cloak room, and is well equipped with technical options for sound and visuals. In line with Epic Hall design points, this room is also carpeted with recessed lighting and wood paneling walls. Novella also features glass case displays of Toronto Public Library Special Collections. For a dining experience 90 people may be seated while as a reception or lecture space 118 people can be obliged.

This modern and well equipped venue with ample natural light and amenities to make guests comfortable is sure to help any event be a success. From weddings and galas to lectures, conferences and meetings, the Bram and Bluma Appel Salon is ready to host the next big central Toronto event.
