“How do I choose a venue?” is a question many people organizing events in the GTA ask themselves.

There’s a process for choosing a venue for your event. The steps include choosing your dates and checking availability, thinking about how many guests you’re hosting, determining a budget, and conducting research on venues that match your requirements on these points. There are other things you’ll want to consider as well.

There are many great venues located around the GTA, so even with a good process, it can be difficult to choose just one. If you’ve been considering the McMichael Art Gallery venue, you may want to check out these five facts.

1. McMichael Art Gallery Has an Outdoor Space

If you’re looking at outdoor venues in the GTA, the McMichael Art Gallery venue may not crop up at the top of your list. That’s because most people hear “art gallery” and assume the venue space must be indoors.

While the gallery has a couple of indoor spaces for functions, there’s also a gorgeous outdoor space. The Hilltop overlooks the lush Humber River Valley, providing you with a stunning view of this tract of conservation land. Provisions can be arranged for up to 150 people, and indoor space can be utilized in case of inclement weather.

If you’re looking for an outdoor venue, this has got to be one of the best choices in the GTA.

2. There Is More Than One Indoor Space

The McMichael Art Gallery also has indoor space, and it might surprise you to know there’s more than one room you can book for your wedding, celebration, or other event.

The Grand Hall features cathedral-style ceilings, hewn logs, and stone architecture, which makes it an amazing choice for a wedding reception. Whether you want something rustic or a little more modern, this is the spot. The opulent room can accommodate up to 150, and it overlooks the Humber River Valley as well.

Gallery Eight features floor-to-ceiling windows and vaulted ceilings. It also boasts artwork from current exhibitions, which means this venue will always be unique.

3. Tours Are Included

When you book your event at the McMichael Art Gallery, you’ll get a whole host of perks. You can arrange a private viewing of the galleries themselves. You might also choose to participate in guided tours or art workshops held at the gallery.

Also included is a one-year family pass to the gallery, which means you can return to view new exhibitions or participate in workshops at any point. You’ll also receive a photo permit, which allows you to take pictures of the artwork in the gallery.

If you’re looking for unique gifts for your guests or wedding favours, you can receive a discount in the gallery’s gift shop as well.

4. There’s Plenty of Parking

Since the venue isn’t located right in downtown Toronto, you may wonder how your guests will get to and from the gallery. The location in Kleinburg is relatively close for most in the GTA, although public transportation may not always be the best option.

Parking is at a premium for most GTA venues, but the McMichael Art Gallery is a pleasant exception to the rule. There’s plenty of parking for your guests here should they choose to drive to the event.

If you’d prefer guests not drive themselves, you can arrange a shuttle to take them to and fro.

5. They Work with Great Caterers

Every venue has a list of preferred providers. The McMichael Gallery has teamed up with some of the GTA’s best caterers to service weddings, anniversaries, and corporate events. Ask if your preferred caterer is on the list.

Choosing an event venue can be difficult. The McMichael Art Gallery makes it easy.
