What Are The Food Awards?

Toronto’s food scene just added another award ceremony to its roster via The Food Awards. The popular awards currently take place in sister cities across the pond, including Cardiff, Dublin, Glasgow, and Manchester. After launching Toronto Hair and Beauty Awards this past year to overwhelming success, and given Toronto’s immense food scene, it only made sense to bring The Food Awards here.

The Food Awards will hand out a range of honours to various food and beverage establishments, covering categories such as Best of Toronto, Chef of the Year, and Restaurant of the Year. In addition to listing the best restaurant or culinary wonders, awards are broken down into best restaurant by cuisine and best take-out spot. A lucky home-based restaurant may win Family Restaurant of the Year, while your favourite food trucks could snag Best Street Food.

The accolades celebrate the top cuisine and dining places in the city, with notable nominations including Toronto favourites. El Catrin, Eva’s Original Chimneys, Factory Girl, The Hogtown Vegan, and Nota Bene are just a few of the many shortlisted for various prizes.

Who’s Behind It?

The awards are hosted by parent company Creative Oceanic, a marketing group operating in both the UK and Ireland, which celebrates the best businesses in a number of different industries. They shine a light on hair and beauty, food and beverage, SME, weddings, hospitality, and more.

Creative Oceanic works with companies to create distinct campaign strategies that leave them a cut above the competition, connecting various businesses with influencer networks and a like-minded audience. They dedicate these unique ceremonies to the people and brands who leave a mark in their fields and on their communities—and as such, are admired by those same people.
