1. Wooden Dessert Crates

Those old wooden crates are so much more than storage units. Place dessert on them, turning the crates into a cupcake display and adding whatever it is your dessert bar holds. Arrange them at different heights and on alternating sides for added effect. You can adorn the crates with twine or ribbon, or you can choose to leave them as is.

2. Wedding Chair Signs

The bride and groom will have no problem finding their seats. Paint “Mr.” and “Mrs.” in white calligraphy on stained pieces of wood and hang them from the back of the chairs using ribbon or twine. It instantly adds to the décor, and it’s a cute way to show everyone who’s who. For an extra touch, add foliage to each sign.

3. Wine Barrels Filled with Flowers

Rustic decorations can be tricky, but this detail brings class to your rustic wedding. Fill old wine barrels with flowers, filling them as high or low as you like. Use the same type of flower in the bridal bouquet, along with similar florals that tie into your wedding theme. You can place the barrels around the venue—at the entrance before guests make their way inside and throughout the reception.

4. Vintage Frame Table Numbers

Instead of the paper plated table signs, hunt around for antique-style frames to differentiate between tables. Pick up different styles from the craft store and paint them in the colour that matches your theme. Stencil numbers on burlap or thick crème-coloured paper. It’s a gorgeous touch that spices up an otherwise plain decoration piece.

5. Drink Dispensers

Set the laidback vibe with a dispenser drink cart where guests can help themselves. Label each dispenser with twine and an escort card so guests know what they’re pouring. Use clear, old-fashioned pitchers, filling each one with drinks, such as fruit-infused water, sparkling lemonade, and a cocktail concoction. There are so many different types of beverage bars to consider for your wedding. For an extra antique touch, place drinks on a wooden wagon cart.

6. Mason Jar Cakes

Mini desserts are all the rage, so why not place them in a container that’s just as pretty as the dessert tastes. Think of them as smaller cupcakes in a cute jar. You can choose to serve your favourite flavour or offer a few varieties for guests to pick and choose. A dessert table filled with individual mason jars make it easy for guests to serve themselves.

7. A Clothespin Photo Line

Your friends and family will love looking at old photos. Create a photo clothespin in the entrance to the reception, using twine to hang photos of the bride and groom, including pictures with friends and family. It’s a great conversation piece, and it will remind everyone of times long gone.

8. Cowboy Attire

A relaxed dress code doesn’t have to be a major part of the wedding, but for wedding party photos, it adds to the rustic wedding vibe. Have everyone don a southern wardrobe. The groom and groomsmen can sport matching cowboy hats while the bride and bridesmaids reveal cowboy boots underneath their dresses.

9. A Natural Table Setting

Forget about table runners and cloths. Leave the table bare and simply place the plates and glasses on top. Wow guests with charming glassware and cutlery, such as matte gold plates and wood-handled silverware. It’ll be the center of attention.

It’s all in the details. Any of these ideas will bring together a charming, rustic wedding you and your guests will love.
